Expanded Learning Program (EXL Program)

Welcome to Academia Avance Charter School Expanded Learning Program. Academia Avance’s mission is to set the standards for public charter school excellence via rigorous college and career preparation that inspires a lifetime of learning and leading. Our vision is to exemplify student success as academic, professional empowerment, and community leadership. The Expanded Learning Program is a free program for all students in grades 6th -12th. Enrollment is open all year round.

At our site we hope to attain this by having Youth Leaders provide an enriched environment filled with learning opportunities, hands-on experiences, and memorable moments. The staff hired through Academia Avance Expanded Learning Program undergoes training in which they learn about classroom management, lesson delivery, and student safety. Academia Avance Expanded Learning Program’s main objective is the well-being of the students emotionally, physically, and mentally, as well as the student’s academic growth.

The Academia Avance Expanded Learning Program provides supper/snack, academic tutoring, athletics, and enrichment activities. Students have the opportunity to select which component they would like to participate in daily. Also, on a monthly basis our site hosts student events, such as student mixers, themed dances, and athletic scrimmages.

Our program consists of Tutoring (Academic Support & Study Hall), Athletics (Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheer, conditioning, etc.), STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
