100% OF ELIGIBLE AVANCE STUDENTS ARE VACCINATED!
Hardly any school can claim this right now. Avance can! 100% of our on campus students aged 12 and over are vaccinated! We are thrilled to share this important and vital health milestone. We are a safe space for every student to learn and vaccines are a huge step to keeping everyone healthy and safe, while learning together in-person.
We enacted a mandate for our Avance community as soon as the Pfizer vaccine gained FDA approval! This was to mitigate the spread of the virus amongst our school community and to greatly reduce the chance of severe symptoms, if infected. Vaccines are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect people from life-threatening and preventable diseases like COVID-19. But we don’t stop there. Vaccines clinics will be held for youth ages 5-11 as soon as the Pfizer vaccine gains EUA status from the FDA later this month. We have implemented multiple health & safety protocols to keep everyone at Avance safe. Our 6th-12th graders, plus our staff, are all adhering to our health & safety guidelines at Avance, like:

Structured cohorts for safety - Avance students will be in a group cohort and will stay with that group throughout the day. This will minimize and eliminate contact with other students for safety.

Student COVID testing every week - testing is available on campus for all students and their family members on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm.

On campus vaccine clinics organized in partnership with Mission Community Hospital, Tribal Administration of the Tataviam Nation, and FirstMed Ambulance Services

All Avance students and staff are required to wear masks at all times when on campus.

As always, Avance is making every effort to support our beloved families safety during this time.
We care about every aspect of our community’s health -- physical, mental, emotional, academic and financial. Our Health Fair on September 29th was another way to celebrate our positive health choices and the community we share. We included healthcare vendors and practitioners like optometrists, dentists, yoga and gym facilities, nutrition advice and a local credit union.
